And life never ceases to surprise. See..I don't need alarm to remember watering my plants anymore! To add more, every evening after entering home, my plants are the first ones I attend to and often I catch myself thinking about them in office as well. Geeez!
I don't know when and what did hit me... May be it was my Bougainvillea. Even after forgetting to water for most part of last four years, this is what I get..Yeah, I am ashamed & grateful at the same time.
Or my tomato plants. I bought three of them about a months ago when there were only bunch of leaves. And now just in a month small yellow flowers are sprouting everywhere and plants are almost double of its size. I feel like a proud parent..Watching them growing gives me pleasure enough. Not that I did anything other than making sure they are nourished and sheltered. On that note, thats only thing parents do.No? We think.we are teaching child everything..but truth is, they learn everything on their own.
Or maybe my Mogra. No flowers yet but it is growing. And every-time I look at it, I long for that heavenly fragrance that was integral in my childhood home. Parents are visiting me soon and how I wish I have atleast one flower for them..
My indoor plants are also surviving (and surviving well) inspite of my over-kissing-under-watering tendency from last one year.
I am still discovering color of my thumb but till then it is safe to remove official-plant-killer from resume. The way I am falling may be one day I will have garden full of veggies and flowers. Just like my dad!
Who knows :)
Much Love,
D

colors of my rainbow
I impulsively rushed forward to 'rescue' my little baby but soon stopped short... There he was, perched himself up on hairdresser's high chair, flashing a cool smile and getting a cool haircut. All on his own! I wondered, where did my bawling at the sight of hairdresser baby go?
We planned a b'day party for him in a park but I had a nagging fear.. what if my baby keeps clinging to me and doesn't enjoy his own b'day party? Frequent sound of giggles and sights of little friends blowing bubble together and having fun times made me realise how outdated my fears were.
I do sometimes miss his babyness, but I am really enjoying this growing independence, developing personality, numerous quirks and conversations of my witty 4 yrs old. Sample this:
Shreyas: Mamma, can I eat pig?
Me: If you want to.
Shreyas: Can I eat chicken?
Me: Hmm.
Shreyas: how about cow?
Me: Ok, do yo want to eat meat?
Shreyas: No Mamma..I am a vegetarian! *with matching hands and eyes movements*
Life with him is busy, crazy but seldom boring..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Athletic by nature...He may be just 31 pounds but good at almost every sport he tried so far. Favorite one is still Soccer. He goes to to learn soccer every Saturday morning, and can easily sacrifice his morning sleep for it. One call of "Shreyu, soccer class" is enough to wake him up and get ready under 10 mins. Ah..how I wish he has soccer class every morning.
Apparently 4 yrs old do make deep bonds...These two boys: one Indian and one Chinese and living in America, could not understand each others language till few months ago. And now they are so close, their teacher proudly tells everybody about their friendship. They are incidently only 3 days apart and act like twins. Pic of their combined b'day party at school :)
Shreyas is fascinated with concept of life and death, these days. I don't know if it is normal for a 4 yrs old... But that is how it is :) Other day, he told me when he dies he would like to be buried and not cremated. I was shocked by the thought process but anyways told him to put it in his will once he learns to write. Quirky!
He is also very consistent (definitely on Daddy) in whatever he does. When he had started crawling at 6-7 months of age, he used to pick and put only green colored kachra in his mouth. His favorite color is still green .
Same goes for Thomas the tank engine. It was favorite at 2, It is favorite at 4.
I need to do second part of this post so till then here are some colors of my rainbow!
Much love,
